Zytek Communications Corpopration was founded in 1983 as an embedded system engineering company. Over the years Zytek has designed numerous embedded systems in the fields of industrial control and telephony. Examples of the projects undertaken are the following:

• Adroit Engineering's Headlight Aim Comparative Audit System, currently in use in numerous Ford vehicle assembly plants internationally.
• Talking Technology's Powerline II, , a two channel voice processing board.
• American Diversified Silver's ASR, a microcontroller-based unit for electroplating silver from photochemical solutions.
• Zytek's SBC-51A, an 8051-based general purpose single board computer.
